What do you call a melon that’s not allowed to get married? Can’t elope

You’re Invited! (3 1/2 Stars)

Creating invitations for different events says a lot about what is going to happen. Make an invitation for either any event, whether it occur or not. Pick an event from a movie even! What does the invitation say about the event? Get creative

Story Behind the Story

For this, I collaborated with Mia. We had already made a connection with our characters in our radio show NOIR Not the Father, so we decided to elaborate on that relationship. Her character is Blair Morgan, a mother of five and a crime scene clean-up specialists. My character, Stella Vaughn, is a sociopathic psychologist. So obviously they are going to be the best of friends.

This invite takes place after the show has been recorded and aired. One of Blair’s many children, Charles Lawrence Arnold Jr., is getting married. Blair and Stella have become a team of deceiving, live-ruining women. Their show NOIR Not the Father is all about unveiling people’s secrets. They became close in their meddling ways, so naturally that deems Stella worthy of a wedding invitation.

Work Itself

Narrate the Process

We found a template for wedding invitations online and then just created our own design. Mia created the actual invite and I developed the RSVP. I had to save and export the RSVP a couple of times in order to get the handwriting font. I went to dafont.com and downloaded a font that seemed to reflect what Stella’s handwriting would be like in real life.

  1. I really like the color scheme and silhouettes you used to create this wedding invitation! I think it made make a really cute wedding invite in real life. I also like how you incorporated the reply and chose a different font for the reply to make it look like it was written in. Your hard work on this assignment definitely paid off!

  2. D’aww. I really like this. I love what I’m assuming is inspiration from UP.
The pair of invitation and RSVP flow very nicely together. And that handwriting font is spectacular.
This was such a creative take on the assignment, using an extra step of incorporating one of Blair’s children into the mix.
